This Place

Part of Three Tynes

The Three Tynes song This Place and its synced animation was played live at the Tyne Valley Film Festival at Hexham's Forum Cinema on Saturday March 15th, featuring vocals by Katie Doherty and guitar by Dan Coggins.

This Place is about longing for and leaving Kielder. It was previewed at the Hexham Forum Filmmakers' Party and the Allen Valleys Folk Festival in 2024.

This is the first live performance of the song, which will be released to coincide with the performance.

This Place is part of Three Tynes - an audiovisual project based on music

by Will Good and The Mattes (Steve Chaplin),

telling a love story inspired by the great rivers of Northumberland.

‘He Fades Away’ won a Bronze award in the animation category at the Creative Conscience Awards 2022.

‘Home’ - follows the journey of a pigeon around some very specific locations and situations in Northumberland, including the great big green lady known as ‘Northumberlandia’.

'Home' was featured in 'Animating Hexham' - which projected animations by local artists across the town centre of Hexham in Northumberland, across three nights in February 2024.
